How does the MegaTank ink system work?
Instead of replacing cartridges, you top up the built-in ink tanks using ink bottles. The tanks are visible through the front of the printer so you can see the ink level at a glance. Each set of colour bottles lasts up to 14,000 pages and black lasts up to 6,000 pages — substantially more than standard cartridges, and at a much lower cost per page.
What ink does this printer use?
The GX6050 uses Canon GI-46 ink bottles — available in black (GI-46BK), cyan (GI-46C), magenta (GI-46M), and yellow (GI-46Y). Ordering Canon GI-46 ink from Printer Genie keeps GenieCare™ Expert Support active.
