Error 99.09.06 — "No BootDevice"HP's own service documentation identifies this as an eMMC failure — the printer can't find its boot storage. Replacing the eMMC is the documented fix. Error 99.39.67 — "eMMC Not Bootable"Often follows an interrupted firmware update rather than a hardware fault — worth attempting a firmware recovery first. Install Notes

Note: this card may carry firmware from its original printer. We recommend running a firmware update after fitting to make sure it's on a version compatible with your printer.

  1. Power off and unplug the printer. Allow it to sit briefly to discharge static.
  2. Access the formatter via the rear access panel.
  3. Locate the eMMC card on the formatter, near the heat sink.
  4. Remove the old card and fit the replacement in the same orientation.
  5. Reassemble and power on.
  6. Run a firmware update once the printer boots, then print a configuration page to confirm normal operation.

This is an engineer-level repair. If you're not confident opening the printer chassis, we'd recommend having a technician carry out the fit.
