Install Notes

Important: this board is supplied without an eMMC/firmware card. Your printer's configuration, firmware version, and licence data live on that card, not the board itself — it must be moved across from your old formatter.

  1. Power off and unplug the printer. Allow it to sit briefly to discharge static.
  2. Remove the existing formatter board via the rear access panel — disconnect all ribbon cables and connectors, noting their positions, then release the retaining screws and slide the board out.
  3. Locate the eMMC/firmware card on the old board and transfer it to the same slot on the replacement board.
  4. Fit the replacement board, reconnecting all cables and connectors in their original positions.
  5. Reassemble and power on. The printer should boot using the transferred firmware/configuration.
  6. Print a configuration page and run test prints to confirm normal operation, including network and USB connectivity if applicable.

This is an engineer-level repair. If you're not confident opening the printer chassis or handling the eMMC transfer, we'd recommend having a technician carry out the fit.
