5000 or 5100? These two models look almost identical but take different transfer rollers. This part fits the LaserJet 5000 family. If you have a 5100, 5100tn or 5100dtn you need RG9-1542 instead — contact us and we will supply the right one.

Is This the Right Part?

Print faint or washed outA worn transfer roller cannot pull enough toner across, so the page prints light even with a full cartridge fitted. Toner rubbing or smudging offPoor transfer leaves toner loose on the surface so it smears when handled, even with a healthy fuser.
Grey haze across the pageA contaminated or aged roller deposits a light background tint over the whole sheet. Paper jamming instead?Feed faults are a different set of parts entirely. Contact us and we will point you to the right roller or kit.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have a LaserJet 5100 — will this fit?

No. The 5100 uses RG9-1542, a different roller. The two models share a lot of parts but not this one. Contact us and we will get you the correct part.

How should I handle the new roller?

By the metal shaft ends only. Fingerprints on the roller surface alter its charge behaviour and can show up as marks on every page.
