Installation Notes

Allow the fuser to cool fully before handling. The fuser assembly reaches high temperatures during normal operation. Power off the printer and wait at least 30 minutes before removing the fuser.

  1. Power off the printer and disconnect from the mains. Wait at least 30 minutes.
  2. Remove the fuser unit from the printer — rear access panel, release locking levers, slide out.
  3. Open the fuser housing to access the PBA-FUSER logic board.
  4. Photograph the harness connector positions before disconnecting (useful reference).
  5. Disconnect the harness connectors from the old board.
  6. Fit the new PBA-FUSER board and reconnect all harness connectors fully.
  7. Reassemble the fuser housing and reinstall the fuser into the printer.
  8. Power on and run 5–20 test prints to confirm the warning has cleared and output is clean.

Why is the fuser warning showing on a recently replaced fuser?

On some Samsung models, the end-of-life counter is stored on the logic board (PBA-FUSER) inside the fuser assembly — not on the printer's main board. Fitting a new fuser housing does not reset this counter if the old logic board is transferred or if the new fuser shares the same counter data. Replacing the PBA-FUSER board with this chip resets the counter correctly.
