Brother MFC-7460DN Paper Stops Half-Fed / Jams Mid-Feed – Feed Fix

Brother MFC-7460DN Pulling Paper In Part-Way, Then Stopping and Jamming?

When the MFC-7460DN starts to pull a sheet in but it stalls half-fed and jams, the feed rollers have worn enough to grip at the start but lose the sheet before the next set of rollers takes over. The page ends up stuck between the tray and the print path.

What’s happening inside

The pickup roller pulls the sheet from the tray and hands it to the feed roller, which drives it on to the registration rollers. When those rollers are worn, they grip long enough to start the sheet but the grip fades before the hand-off, so the page stalls half-fed and the printer flags a jam. A glazed separation pad adds double-feeds, and a slipped feeder cam lever (part LY2579001) brings on “No Paper”. Replacing the feed parts restores a clean, continuous pull.

Common signs on the MFC-7460DN

  • The sheet enters, then stops half-fed and jams
  • You clear the jam and it does the same on the next page
  • Worse on longer print or fax-out runs
  • Occasional double-feeds or “No Paper” with a full tray

The fix

Fresh rollers keep the sheet moving through the hand-off. Our Paper Feed Repair Kit fits the MFC-7460DN and includes the pickup roller, paper feed roller, separation pad and feeder cam lever in one box, with a printed step-by-step fitting guide. If it’s only the “No Paper” fault, the LY2579001 feeder cam lever is available on its own.

Do it yourself. Fit the kit — it stops the half-fed jams and clears the “No Paper” error together. Fitting is rated Moderate: the pad and rollers clip in from the tray opening, and the cam lever is easiest with the side panel off. A printed guide is included.
