    Faults This Kit Helps Resolve

    Paper not feeding from either trayThe printer sounds like it is trying to pick up paper but nothing enters the feed path. The most common cause is a worn pickup roller that has lost its grip on the paper stack. Multiple sheets feeding at onceTwo or more pages feed together, causing a jam or double-printed pages. The separation pad is designed to prevent this — when worn or glazed, it no longer holds back the second sheet.
    Recurring jams in the same locationIf paper jams are happening consistently at the same point in the feed path, worn rollers or a glazed separation pad are almost always the cause. Replacing them resolves the majority of chronic feed problems. Paper slipping, skewing, or stopping earlyPaper enters at an angle, stops midway, or slips before reaching the registration rollers. New rollers restore the feed torque and alignment needed for consistent pickup.

    Paper jams can also be caused by sensors, paper path assemblies, duplex units and fuser assemblies. This kit addresses worn pickup rollers and separation components only.

    Install Notes

    1. Power off and unplug the printer.
    2. Open the multi-purpose tray and replace the Tray 1 pickup roller and separation pad — check both are fully seated and the correct way round.
    3. Remove the Tray 2 paper cassette and slide the worn pickup roller assembly off the feed shaft.
    4. Fit the new Tray 2 pickup roller assembly, then lift out the old separation pad and spring and fit the new spring followed by the new pad.
    5. Clean the adjacent feed surfaces with an isopropyl wipe if they are contaminated with paper dust.
    6. Reassemble and run 10–20 test prints from both trays to confirm stable feeding.
