Frequently Asked Questions
Will this work if my printer has HP Instant Ink?
No — if your printer is currently enrolled in an active HP Instant Ink subscription, HP's printer firmware blocks non-HP cartridges from printing at all. This isn't a warning message you can dismiss; the printer simply won't print with a compatible cartridge fitted. This cartridge is only suitable for printers that have never joined Instant Ink, or where the subscription has since been fully cancelled and the printer released from it. Check your HP Smart app or account if you're not sure before ordering.
Will this damage my printer or void my warranty?
No. UK/EU law means using a compatible cartridge can't void your manufacturer warranty under normal use, provided your printer isn't blocked by an active HP Instant Ink subscription (see above).
Is W1420X the right cartridge for my printer?
